Visit to T-Park Tuen Mun |
|
We boarded the coach at Tuen Mun Transport Exchange to T-Park and were amazed at the ‘wave-form’ building design when we entered the entrance gate. After watching the introduction video in the T-Theatre, we started the tour of T-Gallery during which our guide explained the process of incineration by fluidized bed technology to burn the sludge uniformly to a temperature of 850oC for at least 2 seconds to control formation of organic pollutants. The flue gas was treated by multi-cyclone, dry reactor and bag filter before emission through the stack which you can hardly recognize as it is nicely built and embedded within the Administration Building. The heat generated in the incineration process is recovered and turned to electricity to supply the whole facility (including the T-Spa) and can produce up to 2MW to the public power grid supporting up to 4000 households. The ash and residue after incineration is then transferred to the nearby West New Territories Landfill. The volume of final waste disposal is reduced 90% of the original sludge volume.
Various questions were raised during the tour when different operation models and materials were shown to us. At the end of the tour, we were given time to stroll freely in the T-Garden, T-Roof, to enjoy a view of Shenzhen Bay or have a drink in the T-Café. The visit is both knowledgeable and relaxing.

Sai Kung Boat trip |
|
It was a hot summer day after typhoon Nepartak smashed Taiwan severely and turned to Fujian. After anchoring at Pak Lap Wan, the first batch of youngsters quickly board the speed boat to start their wakeboard trial while others swam leisurely towards the beach. The lunch with shrimp, cramp, fish, crab congee and other delicious food just served to fill up energy. While waiting for another batch of wakeboard, playing mahjong and singing karaoke would just fit in. Jumping into the water or lying on the big floating bed would be another choice. All 42 participants enjoyed the day very much.
