Team building workshop+BBQ |
|
It's not that easy to find the chicken (with blinded eyes, only with hints from answers to your questions) when the team did not have consensus about direction and movement. It's also difficult to move forward with the Big Foot when coordination was not functioning. Quote from one participant: INPUT(睇野、接收資訊)---->PROCESSING(諗野、處理資訊)---->OUTPUT(結果/行為)。我發現我睇野(INPUT)係好狹窄、眼球只專注一點,睇唔到其他野或者係視而不見,成日睇漏野。這樣會影響下一步PROCESSING(諗野),所以成日做錯事。今後要把眼球多移動去看到全局。
That's what we learnt in the team building workshop

Family Day Fun Tour |
|
We have 39 participants from MILESAA and IGDS alumni members and their families to join this one day local tour. The visit to Kam Hing Noodle exhibits show room was interesting, knowing the procedures of making noodles, looking at the vairous old equipment were quite amazing, also the freshly boiled noodles were tasteful especially when you did not have your breakfast yet. In the afternoon, we visited the Green Garden where kids could feed cattle and ship first time. Some went for 20 minutes boat padding in the pond, others were looking at the plants. It was a wounderful day!

Dialogue in the Dark tour |
|
What an amazing experience tour! Imagine you are brought into a complete darkness environment, you have to rely on your hearing & touching senses to go around the park, board the boat, feel the vegetables & fruits in the market and even drink or eat snack. We should be grateful with what we have and respect those visually imparied persons.

Seminar on Value & Constraints, Opportunities & Risk |
|
We invited 2 alumni, Dr. Francis Kua and Mr. Eddie Hui to share with audience their experiences & knowledge in keeping value, finding out constraints, seeing the opportunities and avoding risk. If we can look through a different angle of view, change our accustomed behaviors, it would bring great changes to our future. Develop a good network in your life, then you can overcome your weaknesses by leveraging strengths of your friends/colleagues.

MSF Orienteering 2011 |
|
How could it be more pleasurable to partake in an exciting game simultaneously to contribute to the charity?
On 3 April 2011, a lovely sunny day, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) held its 10th Orienteering Competition in Peng Chau, in which there were about 2,500 participants. We formed a team for the first time in this meaningful event. Our team members devoted their utmost effort to keep trekking, hiking, running, sweating and laughing to locate the numerous checkpoints. The cheering members also played hard to give support and take pictures.
Out of 50 teams in our group, the champion and first runner-up were both from the fireman brigade. Despite our team was not on the top list, we had yet achieved a remarkable result.
Special thankfulness extends to our Honorary Presidents and alumni for their generous donation. With such, our association was acknowledged the gratitude by MSF with an outstanding fundraising award.

Seminar on Warehouse Management System |
|
Our respectful alumni Paul Li and his project team, had done a tremendous job in developing a warehouse management system for use by third party logistics service provider. This seminar shared with audience the experience learnt in the project and demonstrate the usage of the system. The project was supported from The Sponsorship Programme by The Hong Kong Logistics Development Council and has drawn about 100 attendances from logistics, IT and IGDS alumni. The last part of sharing session is touching when all family members of Paul were asked to go on stage to gave their comments on working in the project. The side product of this project is to let the family members of Paul communicate with each other from a different perspective and worked whole-heartedly for the same goal.
