Content:
Theory of Constraints (TOC) is an overall management philosophy that aims to continually achieve more of the goal of a system. If that system is a for-profit business, then the goal becomes one of making more money, in the present as well as in the future. According to TOC, every organization has one key constraint which limits the systems performance relative to its goal. These constraints can be broadly classified as either an internal constraint or a market constraint. In order to manage the performance of the system, the constraint must be identified and managed correctly.

Organizer: IET-HK Management Section
Electricity and oil are two of the most important energy sources in Hong Kong. The former has always accounted for over 60% of total primary energy consumption per year while oil plays a dominant role in transportation. ExxonMobil, one of the largest energy firms in the world, is engaged in supplying power and oil products to the local market.
This presentation intends to give an overview of the global energy outlook and the critical role of technology played to meeting tomorrow's energy needs and to mitigate the growth of emissions associated with energy use. ExxonMobil's involvement in the power generation business in Hong Kong and the related environmental issues and measures to improve air quality will also be emphasized.
Two leading experts: (a) Mr. Richard Chu, Director, Business Strategy; and (b) Ms Rebecca Luk, Manager, Business Strategy and Regulatory of ExxonMobil Energy Limited to provide this talk.
